Ella is doing great. I took her to the doctor last THursday b/c she had a cold. She weighed 8lbs 10oz. She is eating like...well a hungry hungry hippo. ONe day last week she ate every hour...she is doing better at night though. she will feed around 1039 at night, then 330am and then again at 7ish. during the day it is usually every 2 hours. Yesterday, 3/5/09, Ella was 6 weeks old. We go Monday for her 6 week checkup and she will get her first set of shots. I am not looking too forward to that. I have more pictures but forgor my USB cord to transfer them. I will get more up soon. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts this month.

My First Ambulance Ride
Hello Everyone,
Well Ella and I enjoyed our first ambulance ride on Friday. She had developed a cold on tuesday and it turned into a deep cough. I took her to the doctor on friday and her oxygen level was between 88-94 and it should be from 94-100. therefore, the ambulance was called for her to be transported to Cardinal Glennon Hospital. Tests were run and X-rays were taken. She has RSV (upper respiratory infection) and a small case of pneumonia. She is receiving oxygen and antibiotics for her pneumonia. She is doing pretty good now. She is on a low level of oxygen and receives daily beatings. Just kidding. We do pound on her chest and back to help release all of the congestion in her. As soon as she is oxygen free we will be able to go home. Today (Sunday, 2/8/09), she was off oxygen in the morning, but had to be put back on it b/c she could not hold her own level. We are hoping that she can get winged off the oxygen sometime today or tonight and be able to go home tomorrow some time. Only time will tell though.
On a positive note, Ella did lose her embilicle cord last night. So when we get home we can take our first bath. She is a happy baby here in the hospital and is really cooperative with all of her treatments and is eating like a horse. We are very grateful for that!!!
I will keep you posted with her status. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Love Always,
Leighanne, Josh & Ella :)
